Get to know Clay Phillips.

Back when I was doing construction, I got involved in some litigation, and it was extremely stressful. It was a very tough time for me, and I had a very good lawyer that represented me through that. And through that experience, I said to myself, “I would like to do that.” “I would like to help people.” They’re in a tough time in their life. They’re going through a stressful situation, and I would like to be that kind of lawyer to help them. Well, I graduated from Auburn University in building science, and I was a builder for almost 15 years before I went back to law school, so my former life, I was a builder. Also. I’m a licensed contractor in Alabama, Florida, and I used to be a licensed contractor in Georgia as well. I also hold an Alabama real estate license. I was very much involved in construction and real estate; prior to going to law school. A man came into our office. He was desperate, he just lost his wife. He told me he had been to three other lawyers that turned the case down. His wife had passed away and he applied for the death benefit and the insurance company refused it. And he said, “Can you help me?” We looked into the case; it had some issues. But I was willing to take a chance and help him. And we were able to get him a very good settlement. And when we got the check for him and he came to pick it up, he was in tears crying and saying, “Mr. Phillps, you, you changed my life.” And to me, that touched me, it fueled me to do what I do. I love what I do because I can help people like him. Well, I have a lot of hobbies my daughter is an Auburn cheerleader, so I would say I’m an Auburn fan, but I’m also an Alabama fan. My dad played at Alabama, so I’m a big, big college football fan and my two sons are football players at their high school. I’m involved with going to their games. We’re big hunters and fishers. When we’re not involved with football, we’re hunting and fishing. I think one of my commercials has us in a boat. That’s where I love to be, is down at the beach fishing, and so I’ve got a lot of hobbies. First of all, we care, we care about our clients, and we care about getting them the results they deserve.
